The third season of Bravo’s Shahs Of Sunset has kicked off, and the upcoming episodes will out-do the antics of seasons past. Mike Shouhed, the show’s real estate titan who posed for Playgirl earlier this year, says this season is “more raw.”
Drama aside, Shouhed is blissfully in love with girlfriend Jessica Parido, who is currently taking Jewish conversion classes. Below, Shouhed talks to gossipdavid.com about the couple’s marriage plans, what to expect this season, and being keen on running for political office. Plus check out the video below of Mike giving a tour of his home.
So how have things changed since Season One?
It’s pretty crazy. This is the best season by far. As it’s progressing, I’m realizing the caliber of the producers and camera people and the audio people and everyone behind the scenes, and what a difference it makes. The cast is really amazing. The cast has really come into their own. Everybody has. All of us. I look back at Season One, and we’ve come so far.
How will this season be different?
You’re going to see my character step it up. We’re real, more raw. There’ll be a lot more excitement.
Who are the most polarizing cast members?
It’s a toss-up between Reza [Farahan] and Lilly [Ghalichi]. People are either really hating on them or loving them. That’s what happens when you have a big personality.
How are and Jessica doing?
I went thought a couple relationships, but I finally found someone that completes me. She wants to make me a better person. She puts up with my craziness. She handles it very well, and I love her to death. We definitely take our relationship to the next level this season, and you will be able to watch all that.
And Jessica is still taking classes as part of her conversion to Judaism?
She has a few more classes, and then she sits in front of a panel of Rabbis who ask her questions, and they bless her and make her an honorary Jew.
So is marriage the end-game for you two?
Absolutely, I’ll buy her a huge rock as a symbol of my love to her. We’re going to get engaged and married. And you’ll see all of that unfold. We have a couple more months until she’s done [conversion classes].
Is Jessica a hit with your family and friends?
My friends love her. My family loves her…I’ll never find a woman like her.
Would you pose for Playgirl again?
It was exciting. It was fun. I did something way, way out of my comfort zone, but I worked out like a mad men, I trained, I ate right.I did the photo shoot and it came out really hot. The response to it was amazing and overwhelming, and people really liked it, but onto bigger and better things. It was definitely something I’m very proud of. To do it again is just overkill — once is enough. It’s off my bucket list and onto the next thing.
What’s been the fan response to you as a sex symbol?
My Twitter and Facebook blew up, people people were sending crazy pictures of themselves. What women will do when they get your contact info!
Does Jessica mind that you get such messages?
It’s part of the territory. I delete that crap anyway.
Would you ever get into politics?
Jimmy Delshad, who was the first Iranian-American mayor of Beverley Hills really started something amazing. Being Iranian myself, it was exciting to see people taking a different turn in life…breaking the mold of an Iranian would be.
If I was able to run for office and people voted for me, I think it would be a great vote, and I defnitely think I could make a change in the world. And if the opportunity arose later down the road absolutely, I’d love to.
