Introducing Challenge of the Future, this week’s featured artist from Adrian Grenier‘s music incubator, Wreckroom.
Grenier tells gossipdavid.com, “Challenge of the Future was that band everybody wanted to go see in Brooklyn in the late ’90s. They were the buzz and, in my opinion, truly shaped and set the foundation for Brooklyn to become the music-making mecca it is today.”
He adds, “It was a pleasure bringing them into my basement for this rare reunion, especially for such a good cause. I first started following them when we all attended Bard College in upstate New York. My most vivid memory of that time was when I accidentally gave Aaron, the lead singer, a bloody nose in the pit, mid show. He didn’t even care, just kept singing with blood pouring down his face.”
Based in the basement of Grenier’s Brooklyn home, Wreckroom also serves as a label.
In a piece Grenier penned for The Huffington Post earlier this month, he wrote, “We have a basic philosophy: find the best up coming bands, create quality music & videos (at no charge to the artists) and promote them with the agreement that our bands collaborate and support each other in turn. We all share in the upside of our collective efforts.”
