Katrina Bowden is psyched to her 30 Rock co-star Tina Fey co-host January’s Golden Globes with Amy Poehler— and jokes she has no plans to push Amy out of the coveted gig so she can take to the stage with her castmate.
“I’m not going to knock off Amy,” Katrina said, laughing to GossipDavid.com, during an interview at a dinner for celeb hair colorist Beth Minardi at NYC’s A Voce restaurant, whom Katrina visited earlier in the day at the Mark Garrison salon. “I wouldn’t be ready now! I am kind of shy…I’m fine on set but when I talk in front a large crowd I get weird and really comfortable…So I’m not coming after her!”
Jokes aside, Katrina says of Tina and Amy’s hosting gig, “I think they’re going to awesome. I mean, they’re such a funny pair together. They’re such good friends and that they’ve done it for so long that the back-and-forth is so natural.
Katrina adds, “That’s what makes good double hosts: that they have that good repoire and can bounce off each other. They’re good at working together to make it even more hilarious. It’s more powerful. They’re two hilarious women.”
Katrina, who lives in New York, also spoke to GossipDavid.com about her post 30 Rock plans (she’s now shooting the NBC comedy’s final season) – and one her most notable beauty mishaps:
A memorable home-made hair conditioning concoction she once tried:
“Once I had egg white in my hair, and I had it in for my hair so long, youre supposed to rinse it, and I went into the shower to rinse it — [the instructions] didn’t specify you’re supposed to rinse it with cold water. So I went into a warm shower, so it cooked it into my hair! So then I had white egg whites cooked into my hair! Which I then had to brush out, and re-shampoo. It was disgusting. It was all icky and strange. I will never do it again. I bet every girl has tried every weird at-home concoction at home in their life.”
On shooting the final season of 30 Rock:
“It’s bittersweet. It’s kind of sad. It’s been 7 years. I started when I was 17 on the show. It’s like a family to me. It’s going to be weird. I’d be lying if I said it won’t be weird not to go back next season. It’s also been such a great run and it’s done so much for me personally and for my career, that it’s going to be the most important thing I’ve ever done. So its going to be sad.”
How she expects to feel when filming ends:
“When we stop filming I’m going to be like, ‘I better get another job!’ It’s going to be a little weird. I don’t know. I’m going to have to figure it out. I think it’s cool that it’ll give me opportunities to do other things. And it’s on every night on repeats, so it’ll never go away!”
On branching out of comedy:
“I would like to do something dark and dramatic. My personal tastes in what I watch I watch other than watching 30 Rock is like Breaking Bad. Something like that would be awesome.”
I love Katrina. Im sure she’ll get some great gigs after 30 Rock
I think her and Tina is a better idea! what a way for the show to go out
Her fiance is adorable! I didnt know she was engaged!
