Survivor: Philippines contestant (and Facts of Life star) Lisa Whelchel has revealed to People magazine that she and her husband-of-24 years, Steve Cauble divorced seven months ago.
“The divorce was final on March 1, and [I] went out to be on Survivor on March 10,” Lisa tells People. “Going out to Survivor was helpful for me, to divert my attention and not just dwell on the loss.”
“I just never thought it would happen to me,” says Lisa, who has worked with a Christian ministry. “It was painful to realize that it wasn’t going to work out.”
Lisa and her ex have three grown children, and says there are no hard feelings between the pair.
“We will always be friends,” Lisa says. “And we will always be family, too.”
