The Dark Knight Rises snagged the number-one spot this weekend for the second straight weekend, making just over $64 million.
The film, starring Christian Bale and Anne Hathaway, is still lagging behind the staggering numbers of its predecessor, 2008′s The Dark Knight.
The Dark Knight Rises has now grossed more than $289 million in its first 10 days in theaters. It dropped 60 percent from its opening weekend of $160.9 million.
By comparison, The Dark Knight took a 53 percent drop in its second weekend with a gross of nearly $75.2 million and a 10-day cumulative gross of $313.8 million.
In my opinion, it may have a lot to do with the horrible, horrible masacare in the movie theater in Aurora, Colorado.
So nice that Christian Bale made a visit with his lovely wife to visit the patients of the shooting and visit the make-shift site to honor the beloved dead.
Warner Brothers, I heard, sent a million dollars to the involved victims who were injured. Does it get any more compassionate than that. They did nothing wrong to warrant this crime.
