Vampire Diaries star Nina Dobrev — who plays the CW series’ centuries-old vampire Katherine Pierce — is eager to see fellow creature-of-the-night Johnny Depp in Dark Shadows, opening today.
In the film, Depp plays vampire Barnabas Collins, and rising star Chloë Moretz, 15, plays his spirited relative.
“I haven’t seen [Dark Shadows] yet. I absolutely want to see it,” Dobrev told GossipDavid.com yesterday at NYC’s Hearst Tower, where the actress and her mother Michaela Constantine unveiled their first-ever “got milk?” ad (below) to help launch the mother-daughter-themed “Like Her, Like Me” program. “Anything with Johnny Depp I want to see. I think he’s awesome. I want to see it. And I think Chloë Moretz is a hot new commodity. I’m so proud of her. She’s adorable.” (Coincidentally, Moretz played a vampire in the 2010 film Let Me In)
And Dobrev says Depp definitely has the chops to be a vampire: “Johnny Depp can do anything He’s like wonder man!”
Dobrev also spoke to GossipDavid.com at the milk-themed event, well, about milk. “I work on a vampire show I have to work the craziest hours so I drink a lot of teas and coffees and stuff to stay awake,” she said. “So for me its a latte or a cappuccino with milk or a mocha or chai latte. And I don’t know if it’s popular here because I grew up in Bulgaria, where I’m from, but it was always about Nesquick.”
As part of the “Like Her, Like Me” program, Seventeen magazine are searching for three mother-daughter duos who “exemplify what it means to be good role models for each other.” The winners will then appear together in Milk Mustache ad that will run in Seventeen.
